Taking Effective Measures: Changing the Heart
"How do we change the hearts of the rich people to give
up part of their income and profits? How to convert the profit making in the
big financial institutions into taking social responsibility for those who have
no access to their institutions? These
are ethical and technical questions. It
is only by putting pressure and by obliging the rich through regulation, taxes,
curbing profit margins to contribute more to help the poor. Exhortation and sermons do not help very
much, unless it is followed up by taking effective measures through political
decisions."
